Our Chapter President this fiscal year was Michael S. Berger who jumped in to fill this spot when Jeff Harrell and Jim Adams were unable move up to these duties. Mike, who had been Secretary, quickly re-oriented himself to the new position receiving more than adequate advice from the Board of Governors and past Presidents. Ed Dusch, as President-Elect and Program Chairman, assembled a well-rounded program for the coming year. The other officers were Donald Chip Summers - Secretary, John Dorn Treasurer plus James Walsh, Charles Knights and James Remmers Board of Governors.
Our scheduled meetings were held during the noon hour at the elegant Liverpool Room in The Galt House that featured a great luncheon buffet. The meetings included a wide variety of interesting technical subjects were kept to a strict time schedule and were well attended throughout the year. Two additional meetings in December included a Holiday Party Dinner & Dance with special recognition of Past Chapter Presidents; and the Regional Chapter Review meeting.
Board of Governors meetings were scheduled prior to each general meeting. All topics of concern were discussed in order to assure that our programs were carried out in the best possible manner. As usual, the May golf outing organized by Brent Caswell is expected to be a great success and enjoyed by all that participate. Research Promotion Chairman Bob Logsdon is counting on increased proceeds from the golf outing to meet his chapter Investment goals in ASHRAE Research Promotion.
Louisville Chapter participated in the Region VII CRC in New Orleans during September. Mike Berger was Delegate and Ed Dusch as Alternate carried out their various responsibilities in an admirable fashion. Others attending were Bob Logsdon for Research Promotion, Leonard O’Dell for Historian, Ken Peet as Research Promotion VRC, and Larry Fisher Society Historian. A number of Awards were presented to Louisville Chapter representatives & special mention was one to Kathy Fisher. We were particularly impressed by the great hospitality of the New Orleans Chapter and the fantastic Marti Gras Banquet. What a great place to have a meeting!
