Chapter History - 1996
Our President this year was James H. Remmers and his cabinet included David Jackson - President Elect, Jeffery S. Harrell - Secretary, Mike Berger - Treasurer, Board of Governors Matt Hargan, Leonard O’Dell and Ted Ogle. The first two meetings of the year were held at the Alumni Club, University of Louisville and the rest were at The INN - Marriott Conference Center.
The general meetings alternated between evening and lunch schedule. A well rounded Program schedule included a wide variety of topics of interest to the ASHRAE members. One meeting featured a tour of the newly constructed Jewish Hospital while another included table top displays (16 total), and another was a panel discussion by several control company representatives.. There was also a refrigeration program by one our members and a discussion by another member on revisions to Chapter 62 Building Codes - Building Commissioner.
An extremely interesting program was on the subject of - ASHRAE Research, What’s New in the Weather. Attendance at these meetings was very good, varying from 25 to 45 persons per meeting. Featured each meeting was one or more special committee activity reports encouraging participation in that committee.
The December meeting is set aside for review by the Regional Chairman, as noted earlier. All members are welcome to attend but generally only the chapter Officers and Committee Chairmen are present. This is the opportunity for the Regional Chairman to review all activities within the chapter. All the pros and cons of the committee work are thoroughly hashed out. This is an extremely good learning opportunity for both the chapter and the Regional Chairman. As usual, the year’s programs were rounded out with the golf tournament with Brent Caswell organizing the affair at Bob-O-Link Golf Course, Lawrenceburg, KY.
