Chapter History - 1995

President Ted Ogle had an excellent staff comprised of the following: James H. Remmers - President Elect, Vice President - John Pettit, Secretary - Ray Beaufait, David Jackson - Treasurer, Board of Governors - Larry Fisher, Matt Hargan, Leonard O’Dell and Marty Timm. All of the meetings were held at the Alumni Club, University of Louisville and all were evening events, except one which was a luncheon meeting.

A wide variety of topics were featured. Just a quick review: Alternate Methods of Project Development, IAQ by Jim Cox, International Science & Engineering Fair, Testing & Balancing of HVAC Systems, Refrigerant Choices and Industrial Air Pollution. Plus we had three tours: Casino Boat (HVAC), Kentucky Ford Plant and new U of L Building. This was a well rounded out  program that had a lot for everyone. Attendance and interest was high.

Each meeting included a discussion by one or more committee chairman providing an update on that committee’s activity and in many cases, included a display of some of its results. This included Membership, History, TEGA, Research Promotion, Refrigeration, Education, Student Chapter, and Awards &  Honors.

December traditionally features the chapter review meeting. All chapter functions are reviewed by the Regional Chairman. All activities are discussed at length to determine weak and strong points. Suggested improvements for both Region and Chapter performance are put before the table. Louisville is generally regarded as a progressive chapter, but we are not perfect and this type meeting is very helpful for us.

The May golf outing under the direction of Brent Caswell is one of those events that is hard to beat. And this year was no exception. Many prizes were awarded and everyone was delighted with the afternoon of golf. Monies from this event are mostly contributed to Research Promotion Investment which benefits our industry.
