Louisville ASHRAE Technical Session Webinar
Wednesday, May 27, 2020

Please join us on Wednesday, May 27th for a 1-hour technical session webinar

Topic: Humidity Control With and Without Reheat

Durkin’s approach is that most applications do not need for designers to control humidity, rather just make sure it doesn’t get out of control. Humidity control can be active or passive, but it should never be ignored. This talk will explain low cost but highly effective solutions that work in all climate zones.

This chapter meeting will be held virtually

Topic: Answers to the Biggest Questions About Aerosols, COVID-19 & HVAC Systems

On September 18th, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) appeared to acknowledge that coronavirus could be spread by aerosols. It posted guidance on its website listing aerosols among the ways the virus spreads and saying there was growing evidence the airborne particles can remain suspended and travel beyond 6 feet. But three days later, that guidance was gone. A note in its place said a draft had been posted in error and that the CDC was still working on the update. For several months now, science has backed up the claim that COVID-19 can and does spread through aerosols.

Once the CDC, the WHO and other governing bodies acknowledge this, how will it effect our industry?
In this webinar, we will cover general questions about aerosols, their ability to transmit COVID-19, and ways to protect building occupants from aerosol transmission. The roles ventilation, filtration, and HVAC systems play in aerosol movement and transmission will also be discussed.

Presenter: Luke Powell, WELL AP, LEED AP, Vice President Air Equipment Company

Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Cost: $15
